Ahh yesterday... my first day of relaxation after a month of work..topping the night off with a few sangria in Las Ramblas... We also checked out our flat in Les Corts area. Till you get used to it, the ground floor facade was a bit of a shock.. but the rest... i.e. higher up... inside... surroundings... lovely.. gr8!
On the left is the view from my soon to be bedroom.. as you can see.. nothing special... tho once around u´d know d diff. Best of all.. it´s only 100m away from wrk.. a 5 min walk.. Brill if u hate wakin up early like me...
It´s also so safe.. children play unsupervised.. chicas walk by alone... old people take their evening and morning stralls..
Today it´s a brief stop at work for a welcome meeting...
yeah brief... 2 hours later we´re out... with 2 requirements in mind.. we must get our social security... and we must get a bank account... we had directions (which took an hour to obtain!)...
A 9 EURO taxi ride away... we get to the supposed social security office... our stay there accurately described below...
Us: Hables ingles?
Front Desk: little
Us: We would like to obtain a social security number
FD: no here. u.. go here
Us: ... no here?
FD: no. go here. (points down as a gesture meaning ´today´) closed
Us: Gracias (Haq ghal...)
Basically no can do... It had to be postponed to tomorrow... Bank account next...
Us: Do you speak English?
Clerk: Little...
So had to give it my all... had to squeeze my brain to get out as much spanish as i could.. spanish which G so kindly and patiently taught me ;)
Anyway, bxi mod jew iehor we managed... no more milestones to reach today... just sangria at Las Ramblas :)
